A few years ago the Great British Public voted on the greatest technological advance of the preceding 40 years. The poll was sponsored by Wilkinson Sword (think the razor blade makers) and hosted on the technology website T3. Astonishingly, the winner of the poll was the Guinness Widget. The internet came a distant second followed by mobile phones, cloning, contact lenses, video games and plastic surgery. The Guinness Widget, for you odd people who don’t drink Guinness, is the wee ball inside a can of Guinness that, when you pour it into a glass, gives a perfect, characteristic silky head.

Anyway, all this got me thinking: What are all the ways in which Guinness is better than the Internet? Reader, there are many, many ways. Buckle up while I take you through it.

Guinness Is Delicious

It is a truth, universally acknowledged, that Guinness is a superior tasting beer. The internet has many fine qualities; deliciousness is not one of them.

Guinness Is Good For Your Health

A pint of Guinness is filled with all the good stuff. Calcium, Vitamin B, Iron. It’s basically a meal in a glass.
